Welcome to Dinosaur Stampede National Monument
Experience the only known dinosaur stampede on the planet!
Guided tours take 45 minutes and start from 9.30am. Lark Quarry Conservation Park is open from 8.30am to 5pm.
Our guided tours include:
- Over 3,300 dinosaur footprints scattered over the rock face
- Animated recreations of the dinosaur stampede - as it may have happened 95 million years ago
- A movie presentation in the Trackways Theatre
- The history of Winton's trackway discoveries and conservation
Dinosaur Stampede trading hours
Open six days a week in Summer (1 October to 31 March)
Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5pm (Closed Sundays)
Tours depart at: 9.30am, 11am and 2pm* and run for 45 minutes.
Open seven days a week in Winter (1 April to 30 September)
Monday to Sunday, 8.30am to 5pm
Tours depart at: 9.30am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm* and run for 45 minutes.
*Arrive 15 minutes before the tour commences.

Spending the day? Consider walking the Spinifex Circuit
DISTANCE: 500m
TIME: 15 - 30 minutes
COST: Free
The Spinifex Circuit is a self-guided walking circuit around the Dinosaur Stampede National Monument. A lookout offers spectacular views of rolling Mitchell grass downs, framed by characteristic red earth Jump-Ups found at Lark Quarry Conservation Park. A recyclable flyer is also available at Dinosaur Stampede to interpret the local environment during the walk.
Remember to bring a hat and plenty of suncreen!

Australia's Dinosaur Trail pass - four attractions in one
This pass includes a guided tour of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum (Winton) and Dinosaur Stampede National Monument (Winton); and admission to Kronosaurus Korner (Richmond) and Flinders Discovery Centre (Hughenden).
Access & Facilities
The Dinosaur Stampede National Monument reception building, including access to the trackways, is fully wheelchair accessible.
The Spinifex Walk is recommended for people of reasonable mobility as there are stairs and some uneven surfaces.
Unisex toilets, shaded picnic areas and parking are available at the entrance to Dinosaur Stampede National Monument. As Dinosaur Stampede National Monument is located at Lark Quarry Conservation Park, pets are prohibited from entering the Conservation Park - including the carpark. The carpark is routinely monitored by park rangers, who may fine any visitors with pets found in the Conservation Park.
